HKYAA's Artist in Residency Program is designed to place trained, knowledgeable and practicing artists into community settings where they can share the benefits of the creative process with participants over an extended period of time. Our Resident Artists focus on unlocking each individual student’s creative artist within. Their mission is to inspire artistic creativity and illuminate the connections among people, ideas and language through engaging young artists in quality arts education experiences. Whether exploring the relationship of the arts to language or culture, or deepening a skill in an art form, our Resident Artists have been extremely successful in encouraging:
1. Creativity 4. Language Awareness
2. Craftsmanship 5. Collaboration
3. Cultural Awareness 6. Celebration
Our Resident Artists can be depended upon to spark creativity and engage students in the creative process, deepening learning as they create or perform collaboratively.
